It is hard to keep up with all the special situations. The following rules
might sound extreme, but are needed to keep some order in this extremely
- No makeups
tests for the final exam or quizzes.
- An excused miss means the next exam
counts for the one missed.
- Students must take exams in their assigned
- Medical excuses for
missed work must be well documented and state exactly why you are unable
to participate in a class activity. Feeling bad and going to the student
health services after the fact
is not a valid excuse.
- Other excuses (car breakdown, family
funeral, etc.) must have official documentation with dates and times..
- Sleeping late and missing a quiz is not a
- Attend your assigned
- Students must attend their
assigned lab and no other. It is the only time that lab work will
be signed off. If a student misses lab, unexcused, the Instructor
Verification will be missed, but that will probably only count 10–15
- Put your lab section
number, recitation professor’s name and lecture time on all assignments.
- Read the t-square announcements daily.
It is the official conduit for course announcements. There are also
several forum topics devoted to labs and homeworks.
- Academic HONESTY:
It is permissible to discuss
homework and labs with your peers, but the written work that you turn in
must be your own. Copying code and plagiarizing labs (or HWs) is a
serious violation of the GT Honor code and will be referred to the Dean
of Students for penalties.
Reasonable requests will be
honored if we know about them IN
ADVANCE. If you have to miss something, document it carefully
and let the professor (and your TA) know by e-mail
